Parent Workshop

Our school mission is Inspiring Learning. Empowering Futures. Education for Life. Our core purpose here is to nurture, inspire, and prepare young people to REACH for possibilities and seize opportunities that enable them to positively contribute to their community, society, and the world.

To do this we are working to empower our students, teachers and families with knowledge that will help them make informed choices that will help prepare our young people for a bright future.

Next week we have special guests from The Foundation for Young Australia (fya). They will be here to provide workshops for Year 10 students, professional learning for staff on pupil free day and a presentation for parents on Wednesday 26th of September about the new world of work. fya have done extensive research into the “New Work Order”. This research informs us of what young people need to help them be successful in the world of work that they are soon to enter.

We would like to invite you to attend this presentation on Wednesday 26th of September 6pm upstairs in the STEAM Centre which follows our Exhibition Evening where students are showcasing their work.  The Foundation of Young Australia will present their New Work Order research presentation which will talk about the challenges and opportunities facing young people, and the important role that parents play to support young people as they go through school and ultimately transition from education to employment. We will have a Q+A following to provide parents with a platform to talk about this research and what it means for them. The presentation will be 45 minutes long and hosted by the school board who will be providing drinks and nibbles for the evening.

We hope that you can attend this evening and learn about how you can support your child to transition into the world of work.
