A School-Based New Apprenticeship (SBNA) is a part-time traineeship or apprenticeship. Typically, the student undertaking a SBNA:
is employed and trains on-the-job for at least one day per week
undertakes off-the-job training at scheduled times during the year with their training provider
completes a Certificate II in their chosen industry area over two years (usually Year 11 and 12) for which they receive credit towards their NTCET
School-Based New Apprenticeships are coordinated by Group Training NT. Students wishing to undertake a SBNA need to submit an Expression of Interest form together with their resume to Group Training NT. Contact Group Training on 89412112 for further information.
The Expression of Interest form may be downloaded from the Group Training NT website http://www.gtnt.com.au or obtained from the Transition to Work Coordinator at Taminmin College
