The Taminmin Young Scholars program is designed to provide enrichment opportunities for bright and motivated students in years 5 and 6.
Young Scholars will participate in a number of challenging activities along with other like-minded students. The program focusses on developing the Australian Curriculum General Capabilities such as Information Communication Technology and Critical and Creative Thinking.
Successful students will gain automatic entry into Taminmin’s Leading Learner and Aspire programs in year 7 which leads onto the Centre for Excellence in year 10.

Young Scholars will be invited to special extension activities throughout the year such as Writer in Residence.

Entry into the program will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Academic achievement including PAT-M and PAT-R testing
  • Conduct
  • Effort
  • School / community involvement

The following will be considered:

  • Career pathway (not critical if unknown)
  • Academic interests

Students can travel to Taminmin by bus or be dropped off and picked up.
School Commences at 8.30am
School Finishes at 3.10pm
